Every month I go to ESSpa for a 90 min massage. It is the one way I spoil myself and I truly look forward to it. I have known Robert for 30 years. When I lived in the North he worked in the North and with only a small gap in time did I find him once again at ESSpa. He is a true professional and always checks in to see if the pressure is ok. Before every session, he asks if I have any areas that need more focus. I leave feeling so much better than I arrived. 90 minutes is perfect! I really cannot say enough nice things about this place but let me try…I’ve had a pedicure here and a blow-out with Barry (the salon is connected to them next door). Firstly and most importantly everyone is VERY KIND. In today’s world of very robotic and simulated interactions, this goes a long way. It’s not lost on me the amount of emotional labor it takes to manage a salon and spa and all of its many clients with many personalities. I believe everyone I met here to genuine, helpful, kind and respectful. I am grateful for it and I, in turn, respect their talents and craft. Barry could very well be the heart and gem of Aspinwall; and we had a nice conversation about grief of all things. Ha! Not only did I leave this place on both occasions feeling better about myself aesthetically but I also left with a renewed sense of hope for humanity. Did the Hungarian pedicure, very first pedicure I’ve ever had. This was a pre-baby treat to pamper myself at 38 weeks! Very relaxing! Cindy was great, thorough, and seemed very sweet. Felt like she took good care of me :) The spa itself is a very nice place, enjoyable to be in, all of the staff were friendly. Might be a little on the pricey end, but it was about 60-75minutes and besides for the hot wax to sit and the polish to dry, she was working the whole time. Also love the polish color that I got! Very therapeutic. I felt wonderful following the treatment. Temperature and sounds in the treatment room were just right.
Generally speaking, the entire experience left me feeling entirely relaxed.
The salon itself lets you melt into relaxation. I especially loved the fruit infused water.

First, the interior design of the spa is impressive, sophisticated, and zen with wall murals that make you feel like you’re in Europe. ORIGINAL POST - First - I usually have an amazing experience at ESSPA. Unfortunately, I'm not very pleased with a recent mani/pedi experience. I 'm guessing that the nail polish color or maybe one of the processing applications was old because after 4 hours, the polish smudged right off when I bumped against something. The result is I have trimmed and filed nails, but the layers of polish literally wiped off with a tissue and I only needed to use my own polish remover to clean up remnants to make my nails presentable. I'm sure ESSPA would've addressed the issue if I stopped back in but I don't live close by so a revisit in near future is not feasible. Curiously, Zoya typically performs really well for me so this result was a surprise. The nail tech was very pleasant, noticeably skilled, and seemed to be doing her best during my back to back mani and pedi appointments. I will note though that I found the language barrier between myself and the nail tech to be a bit frustrating for me while trying communicate my preferences effectively. Hoping next time the stars will align for the 5-star type of experience that I've grown used to from ESSPA. :-)...more

This was the MOST A-MAZ-ING experience for myself and my son! He does not like his face being washed. For a graduation gift we got him a kids massage and facial. Carly was his esthetician and was great. She let him paint her face with the mask and he let her get his face so clean. But not too clean as he says lol. My son says the whole experience was ‘pure luxury’. He loved everything about going there. The people who work there are so kind and gentle. They are worth every penny and generous tips! I read some reviews on here that discourage people from going here. My advice is show kindness and you will receive kindness. We met the owner she is delightful. All the employees were knowledgeable and helpful and most of all kind. Their prices are fair. And I hope we can afford to go back in the near future. Ohh and my facial left me glowing for 2 days! My mom and I just went to Esspa for the first time this past weekend and were absolutely blown away.

After my mom's go-to esthetician retired last year, I decided to research some new spas for us to check out, hoping I could find her a replacement. I found a great deal at Esspa around the holidays last year, and got us a package for Christmas.

I got the Clean Facial and she got the Esspa Facial, and we both really enjoyed our experiences! I received a massage and some other bonuses with my service, as did my mom. Since I finished up before her, I was led to a massage chair and given some ginger tea to sip while I waited - it was heavenly.

Both of us were also impressed by the product selection and purchased some on our way out. I'm only 2 days into using the "Silver Healing Cream" product and already, my skin looks 10x better than it did a few days ago.

I have visited Esspa Kozmetika for a self-care day with my sister. I am a mother of 3 young kids & work full time as a nurse. This spa trip allowed me to take some much needed time
to relax! We each got the Happy, Healthy, Wise package including an organic champagne facial, a 90 minute massage as well as a "performance" pedicure. The services we received were fantastic! Carly provided me great tips on how to keep my skin healthy and limit the dryness. I enjoyed the conversations I had with Emily as she did my pedicure. She recommended great products as well as answered my questions on best techniques for home pedicures I do with my girls. While I was getting the pedicure I was offered champagne to drink. Kat provided me with the 90 minute massage. Unlike some people I am not a fan of deep tissue massage. She took the time to ask me what I preferred and continued to make sure I was okay with the amount of pressure applied. Everyone working was very pleasant
and offered service with a smile. Upon leaving, I felt rejuvenated. I highly recommend Esspa Kozmetika. My sister and I make it a point to come here at least once a year and we will continue coming back....more

I had mani and pedi services with Bridget, who was very attentive. The salon is conveniently located near the Highland Park bridge and Aspinwall exit from Route 28. Parking is metered in this quaint business area, so bring quarters and dimes. Meters in front have a 2 hour limit. Maybe there are other parking options but I was running late and didn't investigate.

The salon is a bit eclectic and very relaxing and comfortable. The pedicures have a separate room with recliners. The "ultimate" services were exactly what I wanted...NEEDED. There were good options for exfoliating scrub and lotion. I had a hazelnut scrub and mango cream that provided aromatherapy long after I left, without being overwhelming.

Look no further! You have found the spa that has it all! Wonderful, relaxing atmosphere with attention to detail that makes the entire experience, even the waiting area, relaxing and enjoyable! You will not want to leave! Nothing has been overlooked from the restrooms (that are truly restful), to the multiple plush-lounge waiting areas, to the hot beverage bar, to the massage chair. I only wish I had more time just to hangout and enjoy the surroundings! Treatments are top-notch. My favorite is always the facials, which are life and skin-changing! I also have only great things to say about the massages (hot stone! Yes,please!) and body treatments they offer. A trip to Esspa feels like a mini-vacation. I had a facial with Eva about a month ago and it was the best experience ever!! She made my skin feel like a million bucks! She was also very kind and shared some valuable information about caring for my skin. (lots of tips too, like Desitin being the best sunscreen for your face! Who would have known?!!) Unlike many salons, she didn't suggest purchasing any of her products! No pressure, which I loved!

I can honestly say that I have never seen anything like this place. From the street it just looks like another typical small town storefront. But inside, what the.... It just keeps going on and on. Its like a magic trick or something, you can totally get lost in this spa - in a good way. I had a massage and a facial (my wife bought them for me on a recent trip and ordered me to go). The massage was better than most I have had but the facial (it was my first) was really great. I didnt know what to expect but the girl who did my facial was really professional and explained exactly what she was doing and why. I didn't expect to like it so much but I think I might this a regular thing. Thanks to my wife....more

I've been coming for a few years. The spa services are unparalelled, the atmosphere very relaxing, and having the loft area to rest in and let your treatments "gel" is one of the best aspects of Esspa. I would only like to say that the front desk staff (not the treatment providers) is a little uneven when it comes to courteous service. I've actually started coming less often because of it. The best spa services are undone when personnel are patronizing, impatient and disrespectful. I've commented on this before but have not seen a change, which is why I didn't get another BOGO coupon at the last Black Friday sale. Esspa would be called a very "tony" establishment, but the staff need not have their noses in the air. You could be losing clients that you never know about because they just quietly go elsewhere....more

I've been a client of Esspa over the years (even two previous locations! old school!), and would be there much more frequently if my budget allowed. I recently went for a 60 minute Deep Tissue massage, and it was fantastic. The atmosphere is lovely, the staff is friendly and helpful (but not intrusive at the least), and my treatment was amazing. I've found that over the years, and among various therapists, I've always received great service, and they have been very accommodating when I've had questions. They're great about chatting when I want to, or letting me quietly relax when I don't. I've been lucky enough to have massages at many places over the years--in Pittsburgh and elsewhere, and Esspa is consistently one of my best experiences. It's always the place I recommend when someone asks where to go in Pittsburgh....more

I have been receiving services at Esspa for at least 4 years. The minute you walk in you are greeted by the very personable and professional staff. Esspa is a beautiful, quiet, calming experience. Staff is helpful and very nice. The place is calm, inviting and beautiful. My practitioner was very good and now my underarms smell like chocolate because they use a chocolate wax :) They have relaxation areas, water with lemon and tea. Just an overall pleasant experience....more
