How the process works
The MicroBlading 1st appointment begins with a collaborative mapping of your natural brow shape and facial proportions. Colour-matching comes next so the pigment complements your hair and skin tone, then the artist applies pigment stroke by stroke to create natural, hair-like brows. The goal is a fuller, defined brow appearance that reduces daily makeup steps without promising a specific outcome.
This first session emphasizes planning and precision: mapping decisions — arch height, start and tail placement, and stroke direction — shape the final look. Because results depend on individual skin and existing brow hair, you and your artist will review the proposed shape and colour before pigment is applied, balancing your preferences with what facial structure and natural hair suggest.
Shaping and colour matching
Shaping is a measured process that uses facial landmarks and your input to propose a brow outline. The artist adapts stroke placement within that outline to mimic natural hair growth patterns, working to make strokes follow the direction of your existing hairs so the overall effect appears coherent and three-dimensional rather than painted on.
Colour selection is based on visible hair colour, skin tone, and the look you want to achieve. In Pittsburgh’s four-season climate, we also consider how lighting and seasonal sun exposure may influence how brows read in daylight versus indoor lighting. Final colour is approved with you before any pigment is placed.
Aftercare and follow-up
After the initial application the artist will review recommended care and schedule a follow-up visit to assess how the pigment settled. That second appointment allows refinement of shape and colour if needed. Because each person’s skin responds differently, the follow-up is a quality-control step rather than an optional add-on.
