Get answers to common questions about Underarm Wax.
Most clients enjoy smooth underarms for three to six weeks, depending on hair growth cycles and individual hormones. Hair should be about 1/4 inch for effective removal. Regular waxing can gradually slow regrowth and make hair finer.
Most people feel a quick sting during waxing, followed by immediate relief; discomfort varies by sensitivity. Our estheticians use calming techniques, warm wax, and pressure to minimize pain. Numbing creams are available on request for very sensitive clients.
Ensure hair is roughly 1/4 inch long and avoid deodorant on the day of service. Gently exfoliate 48 hours before but skip harsh treatments immediately prior. Inform your esthetician about medications, recent skin procedures, or sensitivities.
We recommend waiting 12 to 24 hours before applying deodorant. If your skin is sensitive, extend to 48 hours and choose fragrance-free, alcohol-free products. Avoid antiperspirants with harsh chemicals until any irritation fully subsides.
Waxing can sometimes lead to ingrown hairs, especially with curly or coarse growth. Prevent them by exfoliating regularly, moisturizing, and using gentle chemical exfoliants like salicylic acid. Professional waxing and occasional extraction reduce risk; avoid shaving between sessions.
Underarm waxing is generally safe for sensitive skin when performed by professionals. We recommend a patch test for reactive skin and full disclosure of allergies or topical medications. Avoid waxing if using retinoids or with active sunburn; consult our esthetician for guidance.
